The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 Better Together Is Revealed In a Second Colourway

Remember the super-cute and colourful Kasina x Nike Air Max 1? Well, for those of you who are holding out for a slightly more minimal take on the pair, we bring good news! The Korean retailer will be joining forces with Nike for a second take on the pair, so allow us to introduce the Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 Better Together “Blue Grey.”

Whilst the first pair was revealed a couple of weeks ago, not much was known about the inspiration behind the sneakers. Now, we can reveal that the “Better Together” theme relates to the mandarin duck, which served as the inspiration for the colour palette behind both pairs – the male duck takes on the brighter shades, whilst females are more grey in appearance. In Korean culture, ducks carved from wood are given as marriage gifts as they are believed to mate for life, hence the “Better Together” messaging.

Although the Kasina x Nike AM1 Better Together “Blue Grey” takes on a much more muted colourway, cute detailing still features on the shoe, albeit in a much more minimal way. This pair sees the shoe come in the same mixed material construction, with a dark teal-toned leather toe box pairing perfectly with the different shades of grey suedes and pony hair panels. Embroidered details reference the shades seen on the male mandarin duck, and duck illustrations also appear underfoot.

The “Blue Grey” Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 “Better Together” is set to release alongside the “Blue Orange” pair later this year, and will come in a special-edition shoebox. In the meantime, stay tuned for more info and images as they come in, as we’ll be the first to let you know when we hear more.
