Having originally been teased all the way back in March 2021, one of last year’s most hyped releases has finally been given a release date. Following the tragedy that took place at his Astroworld festival last year, Travis Scott and Nike had previously put the release of their Nike Air Max 1 collaboration on hold, but now a release is officially around the corner. Set to drop towards the end of this month, here’s what to expect from the two upcoming pairs.
Arriving in both “Baroque Brown” and “Saturn Gold,” the two Air Max 1s take on earthy colour palettes that match the Cactus Jack aesthetic. The “Baroque Brown” AM1 colourway sees the pair come dressed in tonal browns, beige and hints of red, whilst the “Saturn Gold” pair comes drenched in an all-over yellow beige, with a hint of blue detailing.
The AM1’s usual construction has received a bit of a rework too, with nubuck and mesh uppers and a drawstring lacing system adding a more utilitarian look and feel to the Travis Scott version. The style’s usual branding hits have also been replaced – this time a rubberized Cactus Jack logo sits at the top of the tongue, and in true Travis Scott style a backward Swoosh sweeps across the side of the pairs. This all sits atop a custom CACT.US CORP branded sole, which adds to the rugged look and feel of the shoe.
The Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 collection is rumoured to drop on May 27th alongside a co-branded clothing collection and Scott’s Nike Air Trainer 1 collab. If these are on your must-cop list then be sure to hit the purple button to set your release reminders, as this will guarantee your best chance of copping on the day.
Up next, three Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1s are dropping soon.
