New Balance’s MADE in USA line has come on leaps and bounds ever since Aimé Leon Dore’s Teddy Santis took control of the range back in 2021. The head-honcho has displayed his signature flair throughout recent collections, with fans of the label both new and old enjoying the ongoing project. As part of his work with the Boston-based brand, Santis helped design the recent 990v6 silhouette, a model that holds a great deal of cultural importance, pays homage to 990 iterations we all know and love, and also helps introduce new features to a well-loved classic.
Seen here decked out in classic NB grey, the 990v6 is certainly an aesthetically-pleasing sneaker. The 990 series dates all the way back to 1982, when the original design team were tasked with creating the best running sneaker to ever hit the market. Since then, the model has undergone several transformations, and along the way become symbolic with tastemakers and those in the know when it comes to style.
Crafted from premium suede across the uppers, if you’re searching for the perfect sneakers for spring ‘23 then it doesn’t get much better than these. New Balance’s iconic N logo is placed on both the lateral and medial sides for a familiar touch of branding, while range-specific 990 motifs are located on the tongues. Other notable features include a comfortable ENCAP midsole unit, plus FuelCell integration to make these wearable for extended periods of time without any discomfort.
Available now over at New Balance UK, if you’re looking for your next sneaker pickup then there aren’t many better options than the 990v6 in “Grey”.
