Let's rewind 30 years, the year is 1989 and Michael Jordan is tearing up the NBA with the Chicago Bulls. In the dying seconds of the series, Jordan hits a shot over Craig Ehlo that will go down in the history books as 'The Shot', sending his beloved Bulls into the next round of the play-offs. What was he wearing on his feet that day, the Nike Air Jordan 4 'Bred' of course.
Following on from the success of the Nike Air Jordan III, critics and the masses were wondering whether Tinker Hatfield could repeat it's success. Then the Jordan 4 dropped in the White/Cement/Red and Black/Red colourways. Both representing the Bulls, these sneakers were instant sell outs.
Now, the Swoosh brand are all set to relaunch the Air Jordan IV 'Bred' 30 years on with added details that Jordanheads will love. We are seeing the 'Nike Air' logo on the heel-counter for the first time since 1999, gone is the Jumpman insignia and it has been replaced with the OG motif.
Coming with a blacked out nubuck leather across the upper, this is accented perfectly by the white midsole, grey portions and vivid red hits found across the upper.
Launching at select retailers from May 4, this 30th anniversary iteration of the Nike Air Jordan 4 'Bred' may be one of the most historically important OG releases of 2019. Keep it locked to The Sole Supplier for all of the best news and releases from the sneaker community.
