The Nike Air Rift is without a doubt one of the most marmite shoes within the Swoosh’s roster, but fans of the model will be pleased to know that the retro they’ve been waiting for will finally hit shelves soon. The split-toed silhouette will be returning to its roots in the form of its OG “Kenya” colourway, paying homage to the country’s barefoot runners that inspired its unique shape.
Named after the Great Rift Valley, the Nike Air Rift is instantly recognisable by its split, Tabi-toe design. A strange-looking sneaker-sandal hybrid, the Air Rift quickly became a street-style staple in Japan, but it has quite the cult following within the UK and US, too. In line with its Kenyan theme, this pair comes dressed in shades of black, green and red, while a white midsole unit provides comfort and support underfoot.
Though there’s no release date for the “Kenya” Air Rift just yet, Rift fans will be wanting to get their hands on the retro colourway, which hasn’t been seen since 1995. If these are on your list then be sure to hit the release reminder buttons for your best chance of securing your size.
