Salehe Bembury is one of the footwear designers that has built a strong reputation in the scene today through collaborations with New Balance. Alongside the NB2002Rs he offered in 2020 that kicked off his journey with the Boston brand, Bembury's whistle-equipped New Balance 574 has extended their journey together. So with that said, the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 574 YURT "Universal Communication Pack" is gearing up for a second instalment.
The debut pairs saw only two versions—one in grey and the other in olive. However, these upcoming renditions are arriving in three colourways: "Forest", "Tundra", and "Beach", all of which take inspiration from outdoor-inspired motifs. The white pair, in particular, borrows the iconic "Daytona" colourway that first appeared on Ronnie Fieg's NB1600—a throwback theme of Fieg's summer trips to Daytona Beach during his childhood.
The green pair takes inspiration from lush vegetation in the forest and the black from the snowy Arctic region. The coveted collab is complete with fuzzy suede, mesh, and leather profiling, YURT-branded tongues, a thick midsole unit, and the iconic whistle piece on the heel.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 574 YURT "Universal Communication Pack" is definitely a must-have for dedicated NB collectors.
