German sportswear giant adidas and British retailer size? are teaming up once again, this time to celebrate size?’s 25th birthday with a fresh lineup of City Series sneakers. The party kicks off with the highly anticipated adidas Shanghai, dropping just 2,025 pairs for those lucky enough to grab them.

Let’s rewind a bit. The adidas Shanghai originally stepped onto the scene in 2020 for size?’s 20th Anniversary; a clean addition to adidas’s legendary City Series. But size? and adidas go way back. The partnership began in 2010 for size?’s 10th Anniversary, when six limited edition sneakers repped cities like London, Glasgow, and Manchester. These webs didn’t just look good; they helped revive Terrace-style footwear that had once ruled the streets (and stadium terraces) in the ‘80s.

By 2020, the duo were at it again for the 20th Anniversary, dropping another six pairs that paid homage each edition's Twin City. The standout? The adidas City Series "Shanghai" which took inspiration from the Chinese City's electric nightlife. With only 2,020 pairs released, it became an instant collector’s grail and resale prices soared higher than your average soccer chant.

Now, adidas and size? are bringing back the Shanghai in a whole new colourway. This fresh design channels Shanghai’s vibrant streetlights with a set of vivid orange 3-Stripes. The upper is made of luxurious purple burst suede, paired with semi blue burst leather accents on the heel, paying homage to the legendary Blue Highway; Shanghai’s iconic, light-filled stretch of road.

Gold accents make sure this sneaker shines. “Shanghai” is stamped in gold foil along the midfoot, followed by a gold Trefoil on the tongue and a special gold stamped “1/2025” on the heel.
