The Yeezy 450 seems to be a bit of a focus for Ye’s Yeezy brand this year, with multiple colourways in the works for the rest of the year. It’s not been that long since we last saw a sample emerge in a blacked-out colourway, but now it’s looking like the Yeezy 450 “Utility Black” is going to get a retail release.
When the original sample surfaced it looked as if the sole was to arrive in a slightly lighter shade, but the “Utility Black” 450 appears to take on a “Triple Black” make-up across the Primeknit upper and the jagged EVA midsole. The “Utility Black” 450 sees the shoe’s lacing system get worked into the one-piece upper, with sewn-in raised lace holes working towards a more secure fit. This system is relatively new for Yeezy, with only a handful of silhouettes receiving the update so far.
Otherwise, the 450 “Utility Black” follows the same build as most Yeezy 450s, with an elastic cuff and woven upper that comes made from recycled materials. Underfoot, the 450’s uniquely shaped sole unit wraps around the side and heels to add extra structure. The pair comes finished with black tubular laces and Ortholite insoles for added comfort.
The “Utility Black” Yeezy 450 is expected to release later this year, with rumours currently suggesting that they’ll drop in August. For now, hit the purple button to set your release reminder, and keep it locked for more info and images as they come in.
Up next, take a closer look at the Yeezy 700 V3 "Fade Carbon."
