Well, what a weekend it was for Kanye West. Family drama aside, team Yeezy actually dropped some very important updates this weekend which may have flown a little under your radar given all the gossip that’s going on right now. Luckily for you, we’ve combed through this week's news to bring you the bits you *actually need* to know. Here's what you may have missed...
Firstly, it’s looking like three iconic Yeezy silhouettes are set to get a restock very soon. Rumours that the Yeezy 700 “Wave Runner” could be dropping in March have taken the sneaker world by storm, so if you’re looking for another pair to add to your stash, or you haven’t managed to cop a pair yet, this could be your chance. Having first dropped way back in 2017, the pair have seen a couple of restocks to date, but they’re just so good that we’re not even mad about it.
The second iconic Yeezy to receive restock rumours is the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Oreo.” This pair saw the silhouette take on a stealthy black base, with the signature SLPY 350 stripe done up in white, resulting in a super-versatile colourway that has managed to stand the test of time.
Also joining the "Oreo" colourway is the "Black Red" 350 V2, which was also released in 2016. Much like the "Oreo" the "Black/Red" 350 sees the shoe decked out in an all-black Primeknit upper, but this time a red stripe sweeps across the side of the sneaker. We’re yet to hear of a release date for these pairs, but it’s looking like the release window is set to be sometime in the spring, and they'll likely release alongside the matching black and striped "Dazzling Blue" 350 as part of a pack in the spring.
This week also saw previews of a reflective BSKTBL Knit surface on social. The sock-like silhouette looks to take on tones of beige, black and blue, but when the lights go off, it’s the blue hue that steals the show. The reflective blue details light up the tone and the heel for a flashy finish.
Next up, close-up images of two upcoming colourways were revealed over the weekend. Instagram users thy.prin.ce. and yankeekicks took to the platform to share on-foot images of the Yeezy 450 “Cinder” and Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Onyx” respectively. Although both silhouettes are relatively established within the Yeezy line-ups now, it’s always nice to get a glance of the real-life product before the drop dates. The “Cinder” 450 in particular shows a more detailed view of the all-new gradient sole detail, and the “Onyx” 350 is already looking like it’ll be a super popular release.
Finally, it’s looking like the next month could be looking pretty stacked for Yeezy releases, with a rumoured restock for the Yeezy 500 “Blush” and DSRT BT “Rock,” and launch dates for the Yeezy 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red” and Yeezy 350 V2 “Dazzling Blue” expected to be revealed pretty soon.
