Just ahead of the launch of the enormously hyped Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High “Military Blue”, we’ve now got a detailed look at the original sample pair that will likely never see a widespread public release. Apparently worn by Travis’ personal DJ Chase B, the pair showcase a similar colourway with a more subtle take on the colour blocking. Though many sneakerheads have stated they actually prefer this version, unfortunately they’re pretty much unobtainable.
While the release variation offers up white and blue panels around the toe box, this sample pair instead opts for a black-toe look, which is arguably a more traditional take on the AJ1. According to several sources, the pair in question here are Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment’s original design, with plenty of similarities to the designers original AJ1 collaboration from back in 2014.
Much like the release pair, these samples are crafted from premium tumbled leather all across the uppers, with hits of blue, black and white making up the look. Travis’ signature reversed Swoosh is present on the lateral sides, however the fragment branding differs from the release pair as it’s instead located on the side in a much larger form than the small logo on the heels for the release pair.
If you’re looking to get your hands on this sample pair then unfortunately it’s likely not going to happen, but the good news is that the release pair of the Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High “Military Blue” are set to release this week, so make sure to check out our dedicated raffle guide for your best chance to cop! While you’re here, be sure to take a look at the Air Jordan 3 “Pine Green”!
