We've already written an article about the controversy surrounding the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1. Whether or not the collaboration will ever see the light of day remains to be seen, but it doesn't look like Scott plans on cancelling it as we take our first look at a never-before-seen colourway. Gifted to Offset, this is apparently inspired by the Houston Oilers.
An American football team from Scott's home state, this AT1 features the Texas club's signature blue colour scheme. Featuring a retro corduroy upper, soft yellow accents make their way to the rope laces and rubber midfoot strap which is adorned with "Cactus Corporation" text in a bright green. A perforated leather tongue adds depth to the overall design, while a Nike Swoosh outline is stitched subtly along the lateral and medial side panels.
You may have noticed some fastenings scattered throughout the Air Trainer 1. If you're wondering what these are for, you can actually attached the accompanying waterproof shroud to the shoes to keep them dry. To round it all off, a zipped pocket can be found around the back so you can store your secret stash, finalising the design.
As mentioned previously, who knows if the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 will ever release? If it does, we assume that they'll drop in the latter half of 2022. Let us know what you think of this collaboration, and in related news, the Nike Air Trainer SC High is a masterclass in textures and materials!
