The World Cup is well and truly underway, and with every tournament comes its fair share of trials, tribulations, and above all, themed collections. Though England might not be heading home with the title this year, the team have all received their own player-exclusive Air Force 1s to commemorate the event.
In a project headed up by CANVVS, artists Lorenz.OG, Jordan.Dawson, MadeBlackStudios and Leanne.LDN all put their spin on the series of sneakers which were designed for members of the Three Lions squad. Taking on Lorenzo’s signature fade style across the upper, the pairs arrive with a blue tint that fades out to white around the lower portion of the shoe, and messages of support and player initials have been hand-painted on the uppers. Linings have been saturated with the same sky-blue hue, and some pairs come with darker Swooshes. Lace options come in either blue, white or red in line with the team colours, and tongue tabs feature the Three Lions emblem. Finally, classic AF1 details like the chunky white sole unit and silver dubreas provide the perfect finishing touch.
England team players have been sporting the pairs throughout the tournament, but it’s unlikely that they’ll ever see a wider release. Until then, peep a closer look at the images, and check out the Footpatrol x Mizuno "Post Match" collection.
