Summer is just around the corner and the sneaker world is already heating up with some of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the whole year! Kicking things off early, it looks like May is going to be a tough month financially for any sneakerhead. From long-awaited retro releases to high-profile collaborations which are sure to cause a stir, the month is packed with heat. To give you a head start on the competition, we've rounded up all our favourite releases which are set to drop next month. So mark your calendars and set your notifications, as these releases are sure to sell out faster than you can say "cop or drop".
Kicking things off strong we have another release from Travis Scott's collaboration with the Swoosh brand. A strong, summer-ready colourway, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Canary" has recently had a confirmed release date and we're set to receive the sneaker sooner than we expected. Inspired by Travis' high-school, Elkins High, the leather yellow upper is contrasted by a blue reverse Swoosh which stands out against the muted grey panelling seen across the rest of the shoe. Already one of the most hyped shoes of 2024, we can't wait to get our hands on this pair.
Release date: 17th May 2024
A first-time collaborator, May is also set to be the month we see Nike and New York's BODE pair up on the Astrograbber. Reviving a classic football silhouette from the 70s, BODE is known for expressing a love for the past through contemporary design and this design seems to carry on this message. The simple, laidback design is perfect if you're looking for a new everyday trainer. Set to release in early-May, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on this pair!
Release date: 1st May 2024
The return of a classic, the Air Jordan 4 "Industrial Blue" is a fan-favorite that AJ4 enthusiasts are going to love. Whilst OG fans may know this release by its original name, "Military Blue", every other detail of this release has stayed faithful to the original. A premium off-white upper acts as the base for the striking hits of blue which draw the eye. We haven't seen this pair re-released since 2012, and there are rumours that it has been be crafted to the original 1989 specification, which is sure to make fans happy. Release date: 4th May 2024
Keeping on trend with the terrace styles which have dominated 2024 so far, adidas is set to release their latest collection with Wales Bonner in May. Although we are yet to see any confirmed images, there have been rumours that this latest collaboration will feature two Sambas ("Desert White" and "White/Blue") but also an SL76 which we're excited to see. Initial images of these shoes leaked at the start of the year, but neither of the two brands have officially confirmed the release as of yet. Like some of the WB x adidas releases of the past, we also expect an apparel collection to release alongside the trainers.
Release date: May 2024
An adidas collaborator since 2021, Bad Bunny is set to release another collection with the Three Stripe brand ready for summer! Once again choosing to give a makeover to the Campus silhouette, there are also rumours that the teased Bad Bunny x adidas Gazelle Indoor will also be releasing alongside this. Both feature a similar colour palette, predominantly making use of neutral and beige shades, however the Campus' chunky style is a favourite here in The Sole Supplier office.
Release date: 11th May 2024
Last but not least, May is also expected to be the month we see J Balvin's Air Jordan 3 "Rio" hit the shelves. Whilst we've seen this pair worn by the Colombian artist on multiple occasions, we are yet to get a high-quality, close up look at the pair. Comprised of a tumbled leather and complimented by subtle elephant print details, the all-black upper is contrasted by a sunset style gradient across the heel. If you're a fan of the AJ3 and didn't manage to pick up the "Medellín Sunset" pair released by the rapper earlier in the year, we'd recommend adding this pair to your list.
Release date: 22nd May 2024
