We Copped The Yeezy Slides And Here’s What We Think

What came first, the chicken or the egg? If a tree falls in the forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Are Yeezy Slides a cop, or drop? These are some of life's unanswerable questions and, much like you I'm sure, we were sceptical about the Yeezy Slide at first. But, for some unknown reason (probably y'know, hype, peer pressure and the fact we're fashion victims) we copped the brand spanking new Yeezy Slide.

What are they like!? We hear you ask. Well, lucky for you, we've got the lowdown on the comfort, fit and aesthetic of the Yeezy Slide, so if they restock, you'll know just what to do.

Emily, The Sole Supplier's Digital Marketing & Acquisitions Exec, copped the Yeezy Slide in the Bone colourway. Actually, she copped two pairs but hey, we're not here to judge. Here's what she had to say:

“The Yeezy Slide surpassed my expectations in terms of comfort, especially on the sole and heel areas of the shoe. I heard the sizing on these was a little small, so I went up two sizes from my normal size in order to be able to wear them with thick socks. For example, I'm a UK6 in Jordan 1s but a UK8 in Yeezy Slides. If you have narrower feet or plan to wear with thinner socks, you'd be fine going up only 1 size. Definitely a must cop for working from home!”

Yes. You heard right. Our very own Emily went up TWO whole sizes in her Yeezys to get the perfect fit. So, as you may have guessed, these slides run extra small. But these are Yeezys we're talking about so we can't say we're surprised.

Kelly, who's a Content Writer here at The Sole Supplier, has gone as far as to label the Yeezy Slide the best cop of the season. She said:

“Who would have thought that my fave cop this season would have been the Yeezy Slide? Dubbed 'the prison shoe', I was dubious about how it would look on foot but couldn't miss copping for only £45, and with rave reviews about how comfy they were, I made a last min decision to go for the cop.

I couldn't be happier with them! Not only are they super comfy, but I actually love the way they look on foot; paired up with some Adidas logo socks they're a vibe! I wear mine all day whilst working from home and my Mum's now got shoe envy after trying them on. Obviously, the sizing on these beauties is pretty wild with them being a Yeezy, but I went a whole size up and that was a perfect fit for me!”

Can you sense a bit of a running theme here? Every single member of the team that copped went (at least) a whole size up. So you can pretty much guarantee that's the way forward.

Paige, a writer at The Sole Supplier, is the only one in the team that went for the Yeezy Slide in Earth Brown as opposed to the Bone colourway. Why? We hear you ask. Well:

“I don't know why I went brown tbh, I just felt like it'd go with more. I wear darker colours a lot so I reckon the brown will team better with a darker-toned neutral wardrobe than the bone would. I won't lie, when I first saw these I thought they looked like hospital shoes and I was NOT keen, but then on-foot images started doing the rounds and that pretty much sold them to me.

Let me tell you, I am so glad I copped. They're super comfy and look really cool when paired with some tube socks and joggers. I've always been partial to a socks-and-sliders combo but the Yeezy Slide just elevates the look to a new level. So, Tesco's, watch out, because I'll be rocking these around your aisles in no time.”

Ped, The Sole Supplier's Head of Acquisition, also copped the Yeezy Slide Bone. While he loves his new cop and thinks their comfort is unrivalled, he refuses to wear them outside the house. Here's what he had to say:

“The slides are a great addition to the working-from-home wardrobe and I'm glad I went a size up due to the tightness of the rubber on the upper.

The slides are cosy and perfect for wearing around the house with a pair of comfortable socks. However, I definitely won't be rushing any time soon to wear them out the house – I'd definitely get some funny looks!”

So for Ped, the Yeezy Slides are more of a 'slipper' some might say, as he refuses to even head to Sainsbury's in them, but nonetheless, he's glad he copped and again, recommends you go at least a full size up for optimal comfort.

So there you have it folks, the general consensus is that the Yeezy Slide is an absolute must cop. They're comfortable, functional and, actually, a bit more stylish than we expected! Just remember, always go at least one size up if you're copping these, to guarantee the perfect fit.
