When it comes to upcoming footwear, there's no shortage of rumours and speculation across Instagram. Whilst it's a great platform to stay in-the-know with trending kicks, you always need to stay aware of fake news and leaks. One such example is the above shots of the Jordan 1 x Nike React Element 87 which certain accounts are claiming as legit.
There's no denying these are unbelievable shoe and we can all agree that these would be quick to sellout. But before you get too excited, these won't be coming anytime soon. In fact, sorry to break it to you but these are the handy work of a skilful customiser.
Some of you will remember this hybrid when it first got unveiled by @theshoesurgeon aka Dominic Ciambrone. The LA born artist is famed for his leather-crafted creations. Taking iconic silhouettes, Dominic replaces the uppers with premium grade materials or even changes the design of the shoe entirely. In this case, he fused together design elements from two popular shoes; the Nike React Element 87 with the timeless Jordan 1.
The result is a shoe that combines contemporary and vintage styling in the most effortless way possible. The clear synthetic uppers of the React work surprisingly well on the high-top. Just like that running trainer, an oversized tongue features along with a metallic Swoosh to the sidewall.
Unfortunately, the Jordan 1 x Nike React Element 87 is a 1-of-1 custom. There is some good news though as plenty of Jordan styles are currently live at Nike along with all-new colourways of the Nike React Element 55.
