Dubbed by some the 'mainstream Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner', the adidas Yung-1 made waves in 2018, with its block colours and chunky aesthetic. This time around, we've been blessed with a Crystal White/Clear Orange/Collegiate Royal colourway fresh for midwinter and spring.
The stacked wavy midsole in a muted grey tone merges into the grey upper, which is made from a mixture of nubuck, mesh, and suede. The cushioned foam sole makes you feel like you're walking on air with every step, while the mesh keeps your feet well ventilated.
We're loving the cool colour palette with these ones though. The baby and hot pink 3-Stripe detail to the lateral sidewalls sit well against the royal blue suede layer of trim on the heel, sidewall and toe vamp.
Billed to be released on the 1st of March, we can't wait to get our hands on a pair of these retro revival sneakers. And as winter begins to fade at the time of their release, you'll be able to pair them with lighter colours to reflect the brighter, fresher weather.
If the Yung-1s are are little *too* angular for you, you should consider the adidas Yung-96. This silhouette is essentially the same, but it's been softened to give a more casual, everyday look. But if you are ready to bring the retro chunky vibes and want to amp up your colour rotation, the adidas Yung-1 Crystal White/Clear Orange/Collegiate Royal could be the one for you.
