BAPE x adidas Forum Low 30th Anniversary Green

Japanese retailer BAPE continues to celebrate its 30th anniversary with long-time partner adidas, delivering two colourful takes of the Forum Low. Back in 1993, streetwear legend Nigo founded A Bathing Ape, which 30 years later is still enjoying its relevance within the scene. Wasting no time, the brand has already released a collaborative edition of the Superstar and Campus in 2023, now setting its eyes on the ‘80s basketball silhouette. This “Green” iteration rocks up in classic BAPE style, dripping in the brand’s signature camouflage from heel to toe.

Taking the timeless lines of the ‘80s basketball icon, the overlaying panels are draped in green camo, a make-up we’ve seen before on the adidas Superstar collaborative edition from ‘21. A supple white leather breaks up the loud print, along with a simple set of flat laces that are given a stylistic edge with a celebratory gold dubrae that reads “30”. Typical of the partnership, the pair features asymmetrical branding, revealing the anniversary number on the tongue patch or the right foot with an APE face here in place of the zero. On the left side, a gold trefoil logo on the tongue and sidewall stay true to the silhouette’s traditional details, with the Forum’s strap featuring the usual adidas wordmark.

This collaboration throws it back to 2003 when the two first sparked their relationship, dressing up the heritage silhouette in a colourway that proudly displays the ‘00s Japanese streetwear aesthetic.
