END. x adidas Samba Consortium Cup

The German sportswear giant launched its inaugural adidas Consortium Cup in early 2023, featuring 16 notable streetwear stores worldwide in an intense four-round single-elimination format, with each round showcasing a different adidas silhouette. Fresh off a successful campaign with a second-place finish, Newcastle’s END. earned the opportunity to release its adidas Samba entry in the first round alongside other select sneaker retailers. Also known as the “Past” rendition, this END. x adidas Samba “Consortium Cup” colourway reimagines the legendary trainer with a premium bespoke look.

END. made it to the final round to set up a much-anticipated matchup with fellow UK-based store Offspring. Whilst the latter took home the gold medal, END’s sneaker designs were nothing short of spectacular. This flawless take on the terrace icon flaunts a beige hairy suede base with traditionally woven textile fabrics encompassing the signature T-toe overlay. Colourful vintage tapestries adorn the 3-Stripes and heel tab, highlighted with frayed edges to pull off a retro look. Gold co-branded labels with a cursive “Past” appellation decorate the tongue and sidewalls for a luxe design language. The tapestry-themed sockliner has a special-edition adidas Consortium Cup patch on the footbed, further immortalising the success of the first edition of the sneaker design competition. Preserving the pioneering adidas Samba DNA, the gum rubber sole delivers the finishing touch.
