Shigen translates into “resources” in English, indicating that this GEL-Lyte 3 conserves natural resources. The fabric base of the shoe has an Oyster Grey and Cream knit finish while the overlays on the eye stay panel and mid-panel are Oyster Grey. The rest of the leather overlays, including the ASICS tiger stripes on the mid-panel are Cream. The leather heel counter, on the other hand, is a darker shade of grey. At least 20% of the leather on the upper are recycled and the sock liner was made with 33% less water usage and 45% less carbon emissions. The Oyster Grey and Cream sole unit that caps off the design of this shoe is enhanced with GEL cushioning technology.
