ASICS’ running archives date back over half a century ago back when the brand was still called Onitsuka Tiger. When the Japanese company formed ASICS, it's running shoe technology only continued to develop. The ASICS GEL-NYC is a new model inspired by various running shoes from the past and modern eras. Its upper originated from the GEL-NIMBUS 3, with various design aesthetics taken from the MC-PLUS V. ASICS also brought back the sole unit of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 and incorporated it into the modern GEL-NYC model.

This colourway comes in an all-black mesh upper with shiny silver textile overlays. ASICS’ stripes and logos adorn the sides and the tongue. Black suede fabrics cover the toe, forefoot, eyestay, and heel. GEL cushioning on the forefoot and rear provides long-term comfort.
