Converse x MadeMe One Star Platform’s are being released on May 24th in four colour ways. The Garden Green colour way is a soft dark green and works perfectly with the material and style of this sneaker. The platform has elevated the usual silhouette of the One Star and delivered this contemporary collaboration.
Corduroy is the material of the moment for clothing and in footwear. Nike have just brought out a corduroy pack to satisfy our cord needs and last year Converse produced something quite similar when they collaborated with A$AP Nast.
The inspiration for this sneaker’s style came from New York City culture in the 1990’s and this style in particular was designed by MadeMe’s founder Erin Magee. The green corduroy upper sits on top of the platform sole. Raised “One Stars” span across the toe section of the midsole for a subtle added branding while the MadeMe logo is stamped towards the back of the heel. The green stripe detailing sits just below the outlined logo on the Platforms.
The rest of the midsole’s detailing adheres to Converse’s classic look, but with a twist. The fresh white midsole contrasts with the bold upper and holds the stripe through the centre of the midsole as they have always had.
