California-based streetwear brand Basketcase unveils the limited-edition Basketcase x New Balance 1906AD “Grey”, blending sportswear and gothic-inspired styles. Founded in 2017 by creative director Zach Kinninger, the Paris-exclusive release reimagines the “Tech Explosion Silver” with upcycled details whilst maintaining its vintage look.

Staying faithful to the NB 1906A’s original details, this rendition highlights the Basketcase metal chains on the heel, anchored by removable safety pins. This detail embodies the brand’s distinct design language, nodding to Zach Kinninger’s unconventional styling. The upper features off-white mesh fabrics, reinforced by metallic silver and dark grey overlays crafted in synthetics and leather. The silhouette’s dangling layers and curvilinear aesthetic pay homage to archival New Balance tech sheets, exuding a deconstructed look. Minimalist NB logos adorn the tongue and asymmetrical toe panel, whilst the hallmark “N” decorates the sidewalls. The ACTEVA LITE midsole boasts responsive comfort, whilst the ABZORB SBS pods on the rear deliver supportive cushioning.
