The Basement x New Balance 1906R Day Chrome

London-based streetwear community platform The Basement reunites with New Balance for an exclusive collaboration featuring the 1906R. This project is a follow-up to their previous collaborative endeavour showcasing limited-edition styles of the NB 2002R. Set to be one of the hotly anticipated sneakers of the year, The Basement x New Balance 1906R “Day Chrome” employs a premium spin to the fan-favourite retro running shoe, a nod to the UK’s diverse streetwear scene.

This colourway displays grey diamond mesh fabrics to construct the underlay, covered in metallic silver synthetic overlays. The faint purple “N” logos on the sides emit reflective details that pop when exposed to light. A “B” symbol on the forefoot replaces the typical “NB” label, complementing the BSMNT branding on the lateral toe, tongue, and heel pull tabs. The toggle lacing system exudes a utilitarian-inspired aesthetic, swapped in for the traditional lacing setup. The midsole utilises ACTEVA LITE foam with ABZORB SBS pods in the heel, offering a bouncy yet stable cushioning.
