French creative label Studio FY7 joins forces with New Balance for the second time for another sneaker collaboration. This time, founder Younes Bendjima takes design inspiration from the Mediterranean Sea’s coastlines to create this Studio FY7 x New Balance 576 “Black Blue”.
Studio FY7 founder Younes Bendjima launched his creative agency just four years ago, with the brand is quickly gaining traction in the streetwear industry. Of French and Algerian descent, Bendjima teamed up with New Balance in 2020 for a 992 rendition inspired by Algerian dunes and architecture. This second collaboration features the premium New Balance 576, which celebrates the silhouette's 35th anniversary. Often confused with the 574, the 576 features more high-quality materials due to its Made in UK labelling. It’s a premium everyday shoe with a sleek upper construction and low-profile ENCAP cushioning. New Balance released a 35th-anniversary pack to honour the silhouette, while the shoe also received a collaboration with Run The Boroughs.
This collaborative colourway pays homage to the Mediterranean Sea and features a black mesh and suede construction. Light blue accents resembling the clear waters adorn the N logos and the co-branded labels on the tongue and sockliner. Grey tones comprise the top eyestay, heel tab, and heel counter. The dual-toned EVA foam midsole and black rubber sole complete this luxurious rendition.
