Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v1 Dark Navy

American workwear brand Carhartt is tapping the Boston-based brand New Balance for a joint effort on the legendary 990 series, namely the 990v1 silhouette. The New Balance 990v1 dates all the way back to 1982, considered one of the most highly-priced running shoes at the time reflected in its premium technology, US-made craftsmanship, and the in-house Motion Control Device footbed. Carhartt's take on the model presents the classic model in its original beautiful form but elevated with some of its branding touches.

Taking inspiration from America's humble neighborhood gyms, coined "sculpture center", this Carhartt 990v1 indulges in a navy colour arrangement built on athletic mesh and fuzzy suede panels. The power duo adds contrasting touches by reflective silver N logos, a grey mesh underlay, and Carhartt x New Balance tongue labels. Completing the 990v1 in its true form is a large TPU heel clip, EVA foam-cushioned sole unit, and a Vibram outsole.
