New Balance expands its revered 99X franchise with the debut of the modernised NB 991V2. This New Balance 991V2 Made in UK “Grey” maintains the iconic signature greyscale colour palette of the Boston-based sportswear powerhouse, kitted in fresh details and a more streamlined construction.

First launched in 2001, the New Balance 991 became one of the brand’s premier running trainers, the first to incorporate visible ABZORB cushioning on the heel and forefoot. The sneaker boomed in the early 2010s alongside the 990X series, thanks to the dad shoe trend that put New Balance on the streetwear radar. Following a debut release with a Stone Island collaboration, the newly introduced New Balance 991V2 arrives in a colourway NB knows best. The shoe has a grey mesh base reinforced with khaki pigskin suede overlays and reflective synthetic panels on the forefoot and rear. Classic N logos embellish the sides, while “Made in England” branding on the tongue ensures premium quality synonymous with the longstanding franchise. An embroidered “V2” adorns the heel tab, complementing the 991 applique on the laterals. The midsole combines the brand’s modern-day technology with classic cushioning systems. It has a thick, full-length FuelCell midsole with ENCAP cushioning for superior comfort and stabilised support. Meanwhile, the visible ABZORB SBS inserts on the rear flaunt a light blue hue, deviating from the neutral-based upper. The durable rubber outsole caps off the enhanced sportstyle details of the sneaker.
