New Balance’s running shoe that originally debuted in 1993, the 998, has a fresh offering in hairy grey suede. Manufactured in the brand’s Maine and Massachusetts factories in the U.S, this New Balance 998 will certainly have a crop of OG sneakerheads excited!

Teddy Santis, the brand’s new creative director, has turned his attention to the 998, dressing the silhouette in a grey and navy combination very much like the 990v4 in the first quarter of 2023. The shoe is dominated by an ultra-hairy grey suede on the toe cap, the mid-panels, the tongue and the heel counter. The “N” logos on both the medial and lateral side walls, on the other hand, are in contrasting navy blue outlined in white, matching the toe box and collar accents. The base is off white mesh, complementing the plush sock liner and the laces. A white, navy and cream midsole with ABZORB and ENCAP cushioning technology and a black rubber outsole finish off the style of these kicks.
