The Nike Air Max Goadome was created by Carl Blakeslee, a Senior Designer at Nike’s ACG division between 1998 to 2005. The silhouette got its name from French “Goa” music which played in Parisian clubs at the time, as well as the ACG Lavadome, which was another inspiration behind the design; hence “Goadome”. The original release was intended to give those who wore wheat Timberlands a second boot to switch between, instead of trying to replace them altogether.
The ACG Boot has seen a number of retro’s since its first release, with Supreme dropping two snakeskin editions back in 2021. Now the boot returns in this “Deep Burgundy” colouring, its upper draped in soft suede. A brown midsole and leather heel panel complement the darker shade of suede above, toning down the aggressive nature of the boot. A gum outsole is tactfully placed on the Air Max Goadome, a huge blow to any classic sneakerhead who was trying their best to not to throw cash at the endless list of 2023 releases. A mini Swoosh and small ACG logo keep true to the silhouette’s details and harken back to the branding of Nike 2000s era. Separating itself from other Boots is the iconic visible Air Units, which similar to the Air Max 95 tooling, give these a classic Nike look.
