Nike Air Force 1 Low Puerto Rico

The Nike Air Force 1 silhouette has been paying homage to various parts of the globe, like Paris and London. And now it’s time for a Caribbean island. Meet the Nike Air Force 1 Low Puerto Rico.

This AF1 Low features parts of the Puerto Rican flag as accents on the upper. Red comes in the form of the Nike branding on the white tongue tab. Dark blue can be found on the outsole and white covers the rest of the upper, including the midsole. A lighter shade of blue covers the Swooshes on both sides of the shoe. The leather construction of the upper differs from other AF1s due to the perforated base showing on the toe box and the quarter. The colourful insoles show off some unique elements of this territory, like “Nueva York” which celebrates the fact that 8.9% of New York are made up of Puerto Ricans and “Viejo San Juan”, one of the oldest districts in Puerto Rico. The light blue heel tabs feature Nike Air branding on the left and “Puerto Rico” on the right. Capping off the shoe’s look is the pair of unique metal lace deubrés featuring “Puerto Rico” on the left shoe and the national pastime, dominoes, on the right.
