Nike Air Force 1 Low West Indies Yellow

Nike will be putting smiles on the faces of Air Force 1 fans with the return of this West Indies “Yellow” edition. Having retro’d the “Green” pair in 2022, it looks like serious Air Force 1 aficionados can take another step towards completing their personal West Indies collection.

Originally released in 2003 as a way of celebrating the West Indian Day Parade Carnival that takes place in Brooklyn, the “Yellow” edition was the second colourway to drop out of the series. With the ‘03 release becoming increasingly harder to find, the Swoosh decided to bless us with a retro for the shoe’s 20th Anniversary.

Just like the original, the retro arrives with a majority white leather tooling, with hits of university gold that make this cult classic so distinct. On the outer heel sits the ‘West Indies’ insignia, embroidered here in red and green next to a yellow palm tree. Pushing the motif is the series moniker which is sewn onto the yellow tongue label in red, colour coordinating with the back heel to provide a balanced aesthetic. Finishing off the look of the exterior is the custom lace dubrae and yellow outsole which makes this edition so recognisable among sneakerheads. Inside, the motif continues with the custom insole that lists all the islands that make up the region, a detail that runs consistently throughout the capsule.
