Jordan Brand introduces the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University”, a special-edition colourway inspired by its partner HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). While not an official collaboration with Howard University, sneakerheads have knicknamed this the "Howard University" AJ1 Low due to its striking similarity to the Player Exclusive edition the HBCU Basketball players recieved in '22. The original PE was a celebration of the then new 20-year partnership between Nike and HBCU, with this blue and red colourway being an easy-to-cop alternative.
Unlike the Player Exclusive pairs, this AJ1 Low OG opts for a “Black Toe” colour blocking and lacks school logos. This iteration sports a crisp white leather underlay with navy blue Swooshes and overlays. Red accents envelop the heel panel, complementing the embroidered mini Swoosh on the lateral forefoot and woven Nike Air on the pre-aged nylon tongue. The iconic Wings logo decorates the rear, a nod to MJ’s aerial gracefulness. Encapsulated Nike Air technology provides ample impact protection in every step, whilst the navy outsole ensures consistent traction. Aside from the default sail laces, this pair includes a navy blue option to match the school colours.
Launching on 12th October, you can find out where to get your hands on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” by keeping it locked to The Sole Supplier!
