Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 OG SP Bubblegum Pink

Angelo Baque’s Awake NY celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 with an exclusive sneaker collaboration. This collaboration marks another major milestone for the New York City-based retailer’s resume as it reimagines one of the most iconic retro models designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. Giving the OG “Fire Red” a radical update, the limited-edition Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 OG SP “Bubblegum Pink” offers a striking makeover brimming with head-turning details.

This vibrant AJ5 features a bright pink leather upper with a traditional Nike Air branding on the back panel. The plastic netting on the sides takes the form of a cursive “A” script, one of the most ambitious revamps on the model since Virgil Abloh’s Off-White collab. The embroidered red “23” on the left shoe nods to MJ’s jersey number, while the “NY” on the right pair celebrates the largest East Coast city. A co-branded Jumpman and Awake label decorates the silver reflective tongue and sockliner, highlighting the partnership between the two brands. The clear lace toggle and padded collar provide a secure fit, allowing you to lock in before your big game. The speckled red shark teeth pay homage to vintage fighter jets. A visible Max Air unit in the heel delivers adequate cushioning on any occasion, bolstered by icy translucent herringbone sections on the outsole.
