Nike Air Max 1 GS Clear Jade

Before 1987, Nike’s revolutionary Air units, made from gas-filled urethane pouches, were meant to be felt and not seen. However, Tinker Hatfield entered the picture. Inspired by the Centre Georges Pompidou that exposed all its inner workings, Hatfield designed the Nike Air Max 1 with visible Air units. Check out one of the most recent smaller-sized iterations of the silhouette, the Nike Air Max 1 GS “Clear Jade”.

This AM1 starts out with a pure white mesh base. The tumbled leather overlays on the bottom section of the shoe are in a refreshing aqua-green shade. The signature profile Swooshes on both the medial and lateral mid-panels also follow suit. The suede overlays on the upper part of the shoe are in a light, soft grey. Aqua-green branding can be found on the tongue tabs and heel tabs. A white midsole with exposed Air units at the heel and a white, grey and aqua-green waffle-patterned rubber outsole wraps up the design of this sneaker.
