Keep it here for all the latest news and stockist information for the Nike Air Max 1 OG 2017 Royal Blue. This classic rendition is scheduled to hit shelves soon following the release of another OG colourway. As part of the Air Max Day celebrations, we’ll be covering each and every iconic release in the following weeks via our social media pages.
As the name would suggest, this Air Max 1 OG is a homage to the old-school. In fact, this is a direct re-creation of the first every Air Max 1 released back in 1987. Designed by Tinker Hatfield it was the debut shoe to include a visible Air Unit in the heel – revolutionary technology that continues to dominate in the sneaker game.
Over the years Nike tinkered with that classic AM1 construct, adding more innovations and durability measures. While it delivered more comfort, that classic shape became slightly altered from the original.
Now the engineers and designers at Nike have looked to the very first design for an exact copy while including modern innovations. On the microscopic level, everything remains true to the original including the material choices and branding.
The ‘Sport Royal’ colourway sees a vibrant shade of blue on the synthetic mudguard and Swoosh while a muted shade of grey hits the lace surround. Otherwise, a base shade of white gives a fresh look to the mesh underneath. Finally, to finish the look that visible Air Unit features in tonal blue.
The Nike Air Max 1 OG 2017 Royal Blue is scheduled to release on Thursday 9th March via the retailers listed.
Keep it here for more hype on the run up to the Nike Air Max Day 30th anniversary celebrations.
