Nike Air Max 1 Premium Denim Leopard

After the success of Nike’s Air Max 1 “Big Bubble”, it’s clear that the love for the Air Max 1 is still as strong as ever. The Swoosh has been busy unveiling a number of AM1s for 2023, most of which are throwing the OG tooling to the wayside and heading for a more vibrant make-up instead. While Nike has relied on the silhouette’s classic look and feel in the past, this year has proven that the brand is ready to take its ‘87 icon in a different direction, with this “Denim Leopard” edition being a great example.

This Air Max 1 iteration arrives with a jumbled selection of materials that surprisingly works when all stitched together. A denim mudguard and eyestay panel set the tone, while the textured finish on the toe box gives the pair a familiar feel, mimicking the breathable mesh. A leather tongue patch and set of heavy rope laces confirm the Premium construction, while extra padding around the ankle collar introduces a higher cushioned feel. Speaking of the ankle collar, a traditional Chinese floral print surrounds the foot entrance, a theme which continues inside on the footbed, with the red pattern breathing even more life into this pair. As the name suggests, the pair uses two different forms of leopard print which are found on the forefoot panel and heel, giving your outfit a much-needed dose of colour as you lace these on foot.
