Amsterdam-based label Patta brings “The Wave” to the Nike Air Max 90, a worthy successor to the sought-after AM1 collection. This project marks the second time the Tinker Hatfield masterpiece donned the Dutch streetwear brand’s logo, the first being the “Homegrown” collaboration in 2006. The Patta x Nike Air Max 90 “Wave” headlines the latest chapter in the storied partnership between the two companies, a testament to Edson Sabajo and Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt’s unrivalled vision and creativity.
This iteration showcases a lightweight mesh upper with a wavy mudguard crawling from front to back. The trademark Swoosh decorates the sides, reinforced with TPU panels on the eyestay, foxing, and rear. Co-branding animates the tongue and sockliners to honour the long-standing partnership. The TPU cassette in the heel encases a visible Air bubble for responsive comfort, whilst the PU midsole offers smooth transitions at every stride. Widely spaced grooves and thick waffle treads deliver superior traction from the first wear until the last.
