Nike Air Max 95 Stadium Green

OG sneakerheads are already rubbing their hands upon the announcement of this retro from Nike. Ever since its initial release back in March 2009, the Air Max 95 “Freshwater” has been considered one of the most revered colourways amongst fans of the ‘110’. Clad with the same black-to-grey gradient panelling from the AM95 “Neon”, the alternate blue accents led to these becoming an instant hit within the Air Max community. Now the Swoosh aims to release the “Freshwater” retro under its Next Nature programme, constructed from at least 20% of recycled and repurposed materials.

This time around the upper is built from a synthetic leather, casting aside the usual cut of suedes that make up the panelling. Another feature that’s been updated is the netting around the laces, opting for larger gaps instead of the finer webbing on the 2009 pair. One of the more obvious changes is the brighter shade of “Freshwater”, a detail which may put fans off the retro, but we’ll need to wait on official images to confirm if in fact the change is that drastic. Staying true to the original edition is the outlined mini Swoosh, a detail that the retro could not have succeeded without and a feature sorely missed on today’s current crop of releases.
