Bridging diverse cultures and initiating profound storytelling through fashion, Kids of Immigrants returns with another Nike Air Max Sunder collaboration. The Los Angeles-based clothing brand by Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis earned recognition with its first-ever project with the Swoosh, widely regarded as one of the best sneaker releases of the year. Set to build on the success of the previous colourways, the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder “Concrete Sky” is ready to captivate the streetwear scene thanks to its vibrant colour scheme inspired by LA.
This rendition features a grey ripstop nylon upper with gradient blue grid-like caging on the sidewalls replacing the usual reflective overlays. The blue suede toe cap provides additional structure to the cult classic Sunder’s retooled body. Vibrant yellow accents animate the Swoosh and inner bootie, whilst familiar purple hits envelop the nylon pull tabs. The dark foam midsole carries Max Air bubbles in the forefoot and heel for responsive cushioning, while a cement-themed shank plate for arch support nods to a library of other top tier Jordans.
Special-edition KOI logos adorn the sockliner and tongue, complementing the printed branding on the semi-translucent outsole. The “3062” digit pays homage to KOI’s landline number, whilst the custom sticker pack and shoe box complete the silhouette’s striking details.
