Late ‘90s Air Max models are back in the rotation as Nike reissues the vibrant Air Max SNDR “University Gold”. Now landing with a shorter title, the previous Sunder name forgoes its vowels, embracing the capitalised norm seen on other Air Max classics. Originally landing in ‘99, an era that had innovative footwear technologies emerging from all directions. Following a brief reappearance in 2022, the silhouette returns to its OG form as the Beaverton-based sportswear giant dishes out fresh general-release styles. This Air Max Sunder rendition features a striking gold hue throughout its stretchy Lycra spandex shroud covering the tongue and lacing system underneath. Reflective TPR overlays wrap the lateral and medial sidewalls, adding durability to its lightweight upper. The mini Swoosh nestles on the lateral side, maintaining the sneaker’s sleek, minimalist design. A “6453” label inside the upper references the World Headquarters’ telephone landline, which also spells out “Nike”. A Phylon foam midsole sits underfoot, carrying visible Air bubbles in the forefoot and heel for maximum impact protection and cushioning. The durable lug sole delivers reliable traction on various surfaces.
