Nike Cortez Forrest Gump

The era-defining Nike Cortez “Forrest Gump” returns once again, now with an upgraded design to cater to wide-footers. This iconic running shoe designed by the legendary Oregon track coach and Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman has cemented its legacy beyond sports following its appearance in the 1994 film ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks, helping the namesake lead character run across the United States for over three years.

This latest version of the Cortez showcases a wider toe area and a more padded collar, ensuring more comfort. The timeless low-profile trainer sports a crisp white leather upper, highlighted by a red Swoosh on the lateral and medial sidewalls and a metallic silver lace dubrae. Nike branding on the tongue, rear, and sockliner evokes nostalgia. The EVA midsole flaunts a blue heel wedge, offering dual-density cushioning and arch support. Herringbone patterns on the outsole deliver stop-on-a-dime traction, a design feature relied on by long-distance runners since the late ‘60s.
