Nike SB teams up with Columbia, South Carolina’s Bluetile Skateshop for its first official Dunk Low collaboration — a richly detailed “Butterfly” edition that celebrates both the local skate scene and Bluetile’s cultural impact. Spearheaded by shop owner and SB content mainstay David, long considered the king of Nike SB unboxings, this collab feels well-earned and long overdue.
The design leans into the Monarch butterfly, a species native to South Carolina’s coastal swamps. Textured black leather mimics a night sky backdrop, with layered blue panels and campfire orange accents echoing the vibrant wings of the Monarch. A translucent outsole fades from cool to warm tones, while the inner eyestays hide butterfly wing graphics. Caterpillar-style furry laces nod to the butterfly’s fuzzy body, and tongue tags sign off with “All The Best” and “Love, Bluetile” — a handwritten note from the shop to the community.
Inside, the South Carolina state flag and stitched sabal palm root the design firmly in Bluetile’s hometown. As Nike SB continues to spotlight core skateshops, this Dunk Low stands out as both a personal thank-you and a symbol of the shop’s decades-deep presence in the scene.
