Nike Dunk Low CO.JP Snakeskin Brown

To many OG sneakerheads, the CO.JP era was a time in which a lot of the groundwork was done for modern-day footwear culture. Key industry figures would argue it formed the foundations for today’s collaborations as many Japanese retailers at the time were given exclusive access to Nike products. Luckily for you, buying these “Snakeskin Brown” Dunk Lows is easier than having to wait weeks for your friend to return from Japan with a duffle bag full of rare Nike sneakers, with the Swoosh set to drop this retro on SNKRS in the near future.

The Swoosh is cut from black tumbled leather, a premium touch that gives this retro the respect it deserves, matching the black laces and inner lining. An aged finish on the brown panelling ties in well with the darker tones of the snakeskin pattern underneath. The cream midsole sits below in the usual Dunk tooling, with a chocolate brown coating the tread. Branding details can be found in a black and red combination throughout, a detail taken from both the original Air Max 90 "Escape Pack" from '02 and Dunk Low "Beast Pack" from '06. Another reference to the "Beast Pack" Dunk from '06 is of course the reptile panels which are used on the underlays, although here in a lighter shade to help contrast the heavy shade of brown. The leather lining is another appreciated touch that goes hand in hand with the leather Swoosh to give this Dunk a quality finish.

Dropping as a part of an atmos "Head 2 Head" raffle that includes the Air Max 1 Tokyo 23 "Yellow Navy", the Dunk Low will be releasing in Japan on the 9th of June with a UK date soon to follow.
