Having already seen images for the “Rainbow Trout” release, Nike cast its net back into the Rivers of Oregon to pull out another fish-themed Dunk Low. It seems as though Nike has eased up a little when it comes to modifying its sacred Swoosh, at least for those who work within the brand. We even saw Nike SB use a shark-shaped Swoosh on the Oski Dunk High, so perhaps there’s just a soft spot for aquatic-based inspirations. We’d sure like to see a photo of someone holding a big catch with these Dunks on foot, could be the biggest flex of 2023 so we’ll be eagerly waiting until then.
This time the colourway has been taken down a notch with its range of blue hues and yellowing elements, the altered Swoosh becoming the statement piece. A scaley iridescent makeover splashes onto the iconic logo, its hook end further implying the fish-inspired motif. A light blue ripstop forms the toe and sidewall panelling, breaking up the texture of the adjacent heavy suede. Yellowing has been applied to the midsole and laces which balance out the icy blue tones of the upper. No matter if you’re paving the streets or sitting on the bank of your local river, these will have you looking like a catch.
