Nike Dunk Low Rainbow Trout

Nike pays homage to the Rainbow Trout, a fish native to the North-Western Coast of America, home to the rivers that thread throughout Portland and home to the Swoosh itself. Prepare to cast your eyes on these fish-inspired Dunk Lows, a shoe guaranteed to have the unconventional sneakerhead hooked. Nike sure loves a design based around aquatic creatures, just look at 2021 when the Koi Fish Air Max 95 and 97 were released, we were practically drowning in them. Now, this “Rainbow Trout” colourway keeps it fun with its various hues and animal print galore.

The Swoosh itself has been given a scaley makeover, glistening as it catches the light, much like its less rubber-based family member. Resembling that of a fishhook is the iconic logo, slightly tweaked in order to fit the motif, a subtle but appreciative change. The “Rainbow Trout” print is featured on the sidewall and toe box, its loud appearance dampened by the dark green suede that surrounds it. The mesh on the tongue is draped in an orange, the Nike label depicting that of trout with the words inside reading “Nike Beaverton 1972”. The final dash of colour can be found on the back via an orange heel tab and pink underlay, two tones commonly associated with the multi-coloured creature.
