The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low Toddler Gym Red

Celebrating its 85th anniversary, The Wizard of Oz franchise teams up with Nike Skateboarding for a limited-edition SB Dunk Low colourway. This collaboration honours the highly acclaimed 1939 American musical fantasy film, marking an official partnership after a trio of SBs in 2015 paid homage to now highly coveted styles like the “Dorothy”, “Tin Man”, and “Ruby Red Slipper”. Nodding to the poppy field scene, The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low Toddler “Gym Red” incorporates a hydro-dipping printing technique to produce its striking all-over graphics.

This toddler-sized skate shoe flaunts a vibrant poppy field pattern throughout the upper and midsole, adorned with a red nubuck leather Swoosh on the sidewalls. The tearaway overlay covers a plain red layer underneath, which draws inspiration from Dorothy’s red slippers. Co-branded labels animate the elegant satin tongue, whilst a debossed Nike branding graces the heel tab. An embroidered “No Place Like Home” text embellishes the rear panel to complement the theme. The artwork on the sockliner displays the Wicked Witch of the West alongside the winged monkey for additional storytelling. A semi-translucent outsole sits underfoot to complete the eye-popping design. Aside from the special-edition wrapping paper, this pair arrives in a black plastic bag as a reference to Dorothy’s dialogue: “I don’t think there’s anything in that black bag for me”.
