The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is gaining more traction in terms of popularity as Nike finally brings more general-release colourways. Its first run in 2011 was brief, only launching in a few limited-edition styles. In 2018 and 2019, Dr. Samuel Ross and his A-COLD-WALL* brand collaborated with Nike for several Nike Zoom Vomero 5 colourways with a removable heel counter as part of the outdoor-inspired design. The 2022 return of the shoe saw the arrival of more colourways than all the previous years. With the rising trend of chunky retro runners, there’s no better time to try a pair of the Zoom Vomero 5.
This colourway features a clean sail white mesh base with black accents on the textile overlays. Suede comprises the eyestay while TPU covers the caged quarter panels for a nice mix of materials. Sail white accents make up the full-length Cushlon foam with embedded Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel. The semi-translucent traction pods on the waffle outsole bring vintage aesthetics to the equation. Special Supersonic logos are placed on the tongue, while the blue sockliner features graphics involving a stereo and a small street.
