Ye's foray into basketball shoes hasn't been without its fair share of controversy, but that hasn't deterred the creative powerhouse from continuing to put out court-inspired sneakers. When his original basketball-inspired design didn't quite stack up to NBA standards thanks to its reflective look, Ye turned his attention to the Yeezy BSKTBL Knit, a sneaker that prioritised the design elements over any practical sports-ready features, but one that's still perfect for lifestyle wear.
As the name suggests, the Yeezy BSKTBL KNT "Slate Onyx" arrives in a tonal grey and black knit, with a weave pattern similar to that seen on the Yeezy Boost 350 CMPCT. The sock-like sneaker then extends above the ankle, where a ribbed knit provides a secure fit. Ye then brings back the reflective elements that originally got him into trouble by adding a reflective heel cup, and silver woven details at the forefoot look like they could provide a hint of 3M. This all sits atop a comfy adidas Boost sole unit for added cushioning and bounce.
