The Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance link-up delivers the goods time and time again. Now, the pair are renewing that fruitful partnership, turning their attention to the track for a couple of new performance shoes, as well as a reworked retro turf shoe.
The latest chapter treads new water, with ALD putting its signature stamp on two staple New Balance runners: the premium, carbon-plated FuelCell SC Elite v5 and the FuelCell Rebel v5. The drop is a timely follow-up to last month’s collaboration, which saw the duo release a range of training apparel.
£150.00
The FuelCell Elite arrives in a deep ‘Nordic Green’, featuring a gradient mesh upper constructed with NB’s lightweight FANTOMFIT technology, designed for maximum breathability and a secure fit.
The shoe is packed with high-end, fancy-sounding tech. Carbon fibre plate geometry is paired with ‘strategic midsole voids’ to increase stored and returned energy, propelling you as you run.
£230.00
The more entry-level FuelCell Rebel is dressed in ‘Atlantic Blue’. The model boasts extra foam underfoot, a redesigned heel and tongue, and a wider midsole…all of which have been built in to improve comfort, performance and durability. Both shoes, of course, come stamped with ALD’s floral insignia, adding a subtle element of luxe to each design.
Having sold out almost immediately via the ALD website last month, both shoes will be restocked at New Balance August 14th, giving you another crack at things if you missed out the first time around.
£130.00
Accompanying the above and also dropping on August 14th, the ALD x New Balance Gator Run dips into the archives, reimagining an athletic turf shoe as a stylish everyday trainer. Oozing with vintage charm, a cream nylon upper is accented by hairy suede overlays, with ALD’s Queens crest embossed on the heel.
