Next up on the list of New Balance silhouettes set for an Aimé Leon Dore makeover is the 860v2, the second version from the brand’s mainstay running line released in 2012. The New Balance 860 is currently on its 13th iteration, however, ALD has hit the rewind button and opted for its 2012 counterpart instead. The 860v2 did see a retro back in 2019 during the birth of the techy runner trend, but only to receive a lukewarm response.
As ALD casts its magical touch onto this 3-shoe collection, the “Green” edition has already caught the eye of a few sneakerheads. Embracing a breathable light mesh and synthetic panelling, the 860v2 is typical in its technical running features. A bronze hue can be found on the toe as well as outlining all of the New Balance branding, a noticeable accent across all three editions in the pack. A set of classic white running laces come threaded onto the upper, a detail that will go hand-in-hand with a pair of white tube socks, helping push the athleisure look behind the shoe’s sporty design.
While the pictures don’t reveal all that much, we already suspect that this pack from ALD is going to draw many eyes onto what New Balance’s 860v2 has to offer. Expect to see the rise of popularity for the silhouette during 2023, giving you another option to swap out your old New Balance 530s.
