Whilst there's a lot of doom and gloom floating around at the moment, all is not lost. Recently, we were treated to a mass unveiling of some of the Jordan line-up for spring 2023, and much to our surprise, there is going to be plenty to look forward to for us ladies.
Let's be real here too: there's not just the classic "pink it and shrink it" treatment going on. The Jordan Brand has expanded outside of the Air Jordan 1 bracket and has introduced more silhouettes which will be getting released in women's sizing next year. These basketball sneakers pay homage to the history of the sport, as well as Michael Jordan's past himself, rather than just being delivered to 'suit' a female audience.
It's important to remember that these are just mock-up images for the moment, and the colour-blocking and exact tones of the sneaker are subject to change with the official images. As ever, you need to keep it locked to The Sole Supplier to hear about more news and releases from the Jordan Brand and Nike, as well as hearing about how women are making an impact in both the sneaker and sports spheres.

Firstly, our favourite of the line-up has to be the Air Jordan 4 "Seafoam". This women's-exclusive AJ4 colourway is going to be game-changing for female Jordan fans, thanks to its expert colour-blocking and muted palette. We all know that sage is the colour of the season, so let's hope these 4s don't come too late. You can read more about and take a closer look at the pair right here.
Expanding the line-up further is the Air Jordan 14 Low "Steel Grey". This will also be releasing spring 2023 and offers, yet again, a muted colour scheme that shows off purple-grey tones across the upper. From the mock-up, it appears that the body will come constructed from a crinkled material, possibly metallic in appearance, whilst black accents add contrast on the Jumpman, outsole and lacing unit.
On the complete other end of the spectrum, the loud Air Jordan 5 "Mars For Her" certainly doesn't look like a women's-exclusive, but this makes it all the more appealing to us! A red and yellow upper inspired by Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon from 'She's Gotta Have It' brings all the flames, and will take streetwear 'fits from 0 - 100 real quick.
Finally, we're back to MJ's roots with Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Reverse Laney". This women's-exclusive colourway represents Jordan's former high school in North Carolina. The reverse edition of 2013's "Laney" release, this iteration features "Varsity Maize" and "Game Royal" across the upper to create one bright AJ1. Coming in extended sizing, the pair will be available in up to a size 14!
Apart from this, there is also thought to be two Air Jordan 2s on the way just for the girls! Joining the "Craft" pack, consisting of an Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 4, both a Low and a High AJ2 will excite female Jordan fans in the new year. The Air Jordan 2 Low "UNC to Chicago" combines blue and red tones, whilst the Air Jordan 2 "Craft" keeps things simple with tan and white.
